A Brief Post on the Power of Play
Albert Einstein once said: "Play is the highest form of research," and watching the children play I have to agree. One of the best ways to retain and apply what is learned is to reenact a situation, revisit information studied, and to practice. When I see the children play a game such as "Doctor," I see clearly how they are reenacting their own experiences going to a doctor, trying to understand the process, and then applying that information in their play.
As these little ones play, they are taking their experiences of the world and
turning them into applied knowledge, and having a lot of fun doing so!
The dolly was very sick so she needed a shot, but she had some very concerned doctors looking out for her, as well as taking her X-rays to the overhead projector to be examined.
We think she will make a full recovery.
