Art and Soul Preschool has had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the regional schools art show for the last 3 years. It is a wonderful community event where children get to showcase their artwork in a gallery for a month. Today was the art opening and we had a great showing of young artists and their families.
Two of our group art projects were displayed right by the windows, so as soon as you approach the gallery you can see the artwork of these little souls.
There were many wonderful pieces of artwork that the children have made over the year, but each school is limited in space, and since almost all my children have been working on self-portraits, I thought they would make a nice display. The self-portraits may not look like the children, but they are a great representation of how they see themselves and what they are thinking about when they are doing their art. Each portrait had a caption under it of what the children titled their work as, or what they were telling me about their art while they were making it.
To think these little ones can say one day that they have been showing their art in a gallery since they were 4, 3, or some as little as 2 1/2!
Friends discussing their artwork with each other.
Another little artists posing in front of a group project she worked on.
Another proud artist showing us her Self-portrait.
I love seeing both the children and the parents responses to the artwork.
A crowd of Artists and their Grown-ups.
More Art Show Cuteness.
An art show would not be complete without an opening reception with refreshments. Can you tell they were excited?
Checking out the artwork from another school.
